James has a passion for helping others which is evident not only in his business endeavors, but in his personal life as well. He believes in community and is an active supporter of many charitable organizations. A few organizations stand out as they hold personal connections for him.
Make-A-Wish (R) grants the wishes of children diagnosed with life-threatening medical conditions in the United States and its territories. James, and his wife Melissa, believe strongly in the purpose of the foundation and attend most of the local functions. Not only do they donate money, but Melissa volunteers her time and even gets to be a Wish Granter! Follow the above link to learn how you can help wishes come true for kids as well.
In 2010, James lost a friend to Lymphoma. In his honor, James now helps to organize an annual walk to spread awareness and raise funds for research. Keep an eye out for announcements for dates and times of walks. Information on the foundation can be found here.
James is proud of his brother Daniel who has decided to serve his country by joining the army. James recognizes that help needs to be provided to veterans and feels privileged to support the Wounded Warrior Project.
James was very close to his Uncle Charles ”Chuck” Webster and was devastated when he was diagnosed with cancer. He was able to spend just four short months with his uncle after the diagnosis and now he helps the American Cancer Society on a regular basis in his uncle’s name and honor.
Cystic Fibrosis has personally touched James as one of Melissa’s friends was diagnosed with the disease in childhood. The foundation provides much needed support to those suffering with the disease.
James has enjoyed contributing to the Big Brothers Big Sisters of America since a business associate introduced him to it. He believes in empowering children to help them shape a positive future.
St. Jude is leading the way the world understands, treats and defeats childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases. James has been a contributor to the hospital since 1999.
These are just a few of the organizations that James and Melissa support. They are teaching their daughter, Lilyanna, to have a positive impact in her community and to offer support to those around her.
